Paws in the Garden's Story

Paws in the Garden began with a simple moment and a handful of dahlia plants.

My love for dahlias started when I cared for five plants my mom had tucked into her garden. That summer, she was busy supporting my sister through a liver transplant, so I stepped in to tend the garden. What began as a small act of helping quickly became something much more meaningful.

Each evening after work, I found myself drawn outside—watering, watching, and quietly learning these incredible flowers. In the stillness of those moments, dahlias became more than just plants. They became a place of peace, a gentle reminder to slow down, and a space where I could reflect.

Spending time in the garden often brings my thoughts back to creation—how God made all things good, with intention and care. Each bloom is different in color, shape, and size, yet each one is beautiful in its own way. It’s a quiet reminder that, just like these flowers, we are each created uniquely—different, yet beautiful, and with a purpose.

Before long, five plants turned into many… and a passion began to grow.

My cats have always been part of that journey. They often accompany me as I walk through the garden, keeping me company as I plant, weed, and admire each new bloom. Their quiet presence is woven into the rhythm of my garden days and inspired the name Paws in the Garden.

While dahlias hold a special place in my heart, my love for flowers doesn’t stop there. Each spring, I look forward to growing ranunculus—their soft, layered blooms feel like a gentle welcome to a new season and a fresh start.

Today, Paws in the Garden is a reflection of all of these moments—family, faith, quiet evenings, and the joy of growing something beautiful. What started as caring for a few plants has grown into something I’m truly grateful to share.
